I recently dined at Smoke on the Water with a group of six, and we all loved our meals! We tried a variety of dishes, including crab legs, shrimp, BBQ ribs, and pulled pork, smoked chicken all of which were delicious. The appetizers and sides were also fantastic. The service was outstanding! Our food arrived in a timely manner, especially considering how busy the restaurant was that night. The staff was attentive and friendly, making us feel well taken care of throughout our visit. The live band, and the views of the lake added to the great atmosphere, and the drinks from the bar were top-notch. What impressed me most was the owner checking in with us to ensure everything was satisfactory. It’s clear they value their customers. Overall, Smoke on the Water is doing a wonderful job. I highly recommend it and look forward to my next visit!

Great location (about 4 miles from the highway exit) and great view of the marina and water. Lots of choices in outdoor seating (sun, shade, chairs, picnic tables, etc). Food was tasty and I was delightfully surprised by the subtle Asian influence (Thai sweet chili flavors in the BBQ sauce and lime in the cole slaw). I had pulled pork and it was moist and tender. My parents got the brisket and it was very tender and flavorful. Service was very fast and friendly. We enjoyed our chat with the owner as well. We wish you the best!

This was our first time visiting this restaurant and it was well worth the trip from Erie. I settled for the half-chicken and my wife ordered the pulled pork. Unfortunately they were temporarily sold out of the smoked chicken but the owner came out personally and apologized. The restaurant had been so busy for the holiday weekend that it would be a 45 minute wait for the chicken and the owner went above and beyond so I switched to the ribs instead. The food was a perfect rendition of Texas BBQ restaurant complete with the paper lined metal trays and the sides served in paper containers. The taste of the food was fantastic, the view of the lake, boats and the atmosphere was great, and having dinner out on their patio with our friends was a priceless experience. I was impressed and will definitely go back and visit Smoke on the Water again. The owner was very empathetic to being sold out of the entree I had ordered, and he did an awesome job of turning an initial disappointment into a 5 star experience. Our server was very attentive. Although I am not a huge fan of the concept of ordering the meals at a counter when we enter the restaurant and then having the servers bring out the order to our table; the staff and management know how to make this business model work very successfully. Did I mention the live music, great view of Lake Erie, great portion sizes for every item our table ordered? The only feedback that I might suggest, would be to consider pairing entrees with at least one side dish instead having the menu ordering for the entrees and side as a la carte style menu. I would potentially pair an entree choice with a selection of one, two or three sides and then set a price point for a single, double or triple set of sides.

Delicious food and fantastic service! Ashley took great care of us. Ribs were smoky, falling off the bone, perfectly cooked. Great slaw, too!

We loved it! Delicious food, plenty of outdoor seating overlooking the lake. Live music that wasn't excessively loud although we were close. One of our group said that the mac and cheese was the best he’s had in his life (and he’s 59!) Two of us ordered the Saturday special brisket (came with a great salady Cole slaw) and clams which were great with a side of butter. BBQ half chicken was good. Great service and the owner approached us and was eager for all our feedback.

I’ve gone here a few times and it did not disappoint! The food was simply to die for from the brisket to the green beans. Everything had a home made taste. The atmosphere was extremely welcoming, and the staff was very polite. They had a really good live band out on the patio that made it such a fun experience. Everyone was dancing and having fun! I will definitely be back!!

Firstly we have visited 3 times and we live locally. The owner John was interested in knowing how we liked everything and is truly a man who wants to turnout a great product. He spoke with us around 20 minutes the first time we visited and asked what we liked and our thoughts or comments. We told him the food was indeed good and first impressions to be above average. We tried the pulled pork nachos and a side of chips, they were very with a nice smoky flavor. We also tried taco Tuesday and had pulled pork tacos and brisket tacos. I thought everything was very well done and the food was excellent tasting and fresh! The only draw back that my wife and I did not enjoy was we both like to be seated, then handed menus and waited on from start to finish. Also, having everything served in plastic does not compliment the good food as much as being served on real plates and silverware. The wait staff are nice although I can tell u experience and a seasoned waitress are priceless. No offense meant to the younger staff, but with experience comes the opportunity for excellence. Anyway, we will continue to support our local restaurants including Smoke on the water and hopefully down the road this can be a restaurant people come in to visit and talk about as one of the great places to visit and dine!
